TREES FOR TOMORROW
Building climate resilient communities in Nkhata Bay District
Trees for Tomorrow is an initiative to build climate resilient communities by planting trees and support farmers to adapt to the changing climate.
The project is implemented in Lisale Community, Nkhata Bay District, Northern Malawi. The ambition is to plant +100,000 trees over the next years incl. fruit trees and indigenous trees.
In addition, 50 beneficiaries in Lisale community will benefit from different interventions; climate smart agriculture workshops, green income generating opportunities like honey production and poultry, eco stoves, and more.
Trees for Tomorrow is being implemented by CARMA in close consultation with the Natural Ressource Management Community in Lisale and aligns with Malawi’s national goals under the UN’s Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development and Malawi’s Vision 2063.
